Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is an experiential and interactive therapeutic approach in which people learn about themselves and their relationships through interaction with horses. As a result, people experience emotional growth and healing. EAP offers a unique approach to therapy that allows an individual or group to receive immediate and uncensored feedback to what it is they are doing at any given moment. Horses are always authentic and living in each moment. Working in relationship with horses helps people to work through the wounds they have developed. Healing these wounds occurs through connection and communication. Through connection with horses, people are able to gain insight into what may be keeping them stuck or preventing them from moving forward in a healthy way; people are able to heal their past and create the present and future they desire.
